Ixworth High School is a small, friendly secondary school located in the Suffolk village of Ixworth, it is around 10 minutes from the A14, 15 minutes from Bury St Edmunds, and 30 minutes from Ipswich. We are have been oversubscribed in recent years, and are a popular school.

The role
We are seeking to appoint an English teacher at Ixworth High School. The successful candidate should have a personal track record of success teaching GCSE English and English Literature to pupils with a range of abilities, including those with SEN. The post is suitable for either:
We believe that success in any subject is down to a strong curriculum and consistent high quality delivery in the classroom though a thorough knowledge of learning theory. We have a wide ranging enrichment offer and deliver the full national curriculum in KS3 and a wide range of GCSEs in KS4. We are looking for someone with a passion for English and English Literature and a clear understanding of how students learn best.
Candidates may be early in their careers and the post is suitable for ECTs or experienced candidates. For an experienced candidate part time might be available (0.8).
